Please join Evelyn Wajcer to discuss the novel Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont. The event is open to all and will take place at the LMCC Clubhouse.
Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont is a short novel, a blackly humorous story of loneliness, deception, and life in a residential hotel in London. The book was written by Elizabeth Taylor, but not that one. Anne Tyler compared this Elizabeth Taylor to great novelists like Jane Austen, Barbara Pym and Elizabeth Bowen. Mrs. Palfrey at the Clarement was beautifully adapted into a film which is available on YouTube and Hoopla.
