In the forests around the lake are other delicious treasures: wild, edible mushrooms. This workshop is for those who are already acquainted with them and want to learn about POLYPORES - the mushrooms that people often overlook because they grow on tree trunks and stumps - and not on the ground.
Turn out the lights! Turn on the stars! Discover the beauty of the night sky as we explore the constellations and Perseid meteor showers with amateur astronomer Dr. Frederic Beaudry and his telescope.
This year we are borrowing our musical act from another Laurentian lake, Lac Paquin.
Our dock duo are professionals who play folk/rock/blues music for fun.
There are buoys to tether boats. Come by boat, kayak or canoe to enjoy Broadway songs performed on Howard and Viviane Stotland’s dock in Baie Perrault (which also goes by the name of Baie du Roche and Durocher Bay). Saturday, August 2, 4:00 pm.

Take a swim around McCall Island with your fellow adults. The LMCC and the AALM's Water, Safety, and Education Committee invite you to join them in a show of athleticism and fun. The event starts at 2:15pm, Sunday, July 27th with a briefing. The swim itself will start at 2:30pm. There will be plenty of trained support staff to keep you safe. The swim distance is approximately 1.3km. Please let Jay (jhudacin@gmail.com) know you'll be coming or if you have any questions. Walk-ins are also welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.

Warren ‘Slim’ Williams and Friends returns to Fred and Marlene Cantor’s dock.
Slim is a renowned keyboardist, vocalist, and a pillar of the Montreal Soul Scene. He will be collaborating with dance pop recording artist Meredith Marshall whose powerful, emotional voice will bring out the heart and soul of the music. As a bonus, several guest musicians will be making an appearance and will be accompanied by Slim.
Discover the plants growing around Lac Manitou which are edible and/or medicinal on Sunday, July 6, 1-4 pm. Some of these plants are healthier than kale and spinach!
The AALM’s Water Safety & Education Committee in collaboration with the City of Ivry-sur-le-lac are hosting a SPA (safety, pleasure, awareness) Day, 9am to 2pm on July 5th. It’s a great day to enjoy the water, get some tips from seasoned veterans of the different sports, and meet some new people.
Annual Trails Clearing Day will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 10 am, and a potluck dinner that same evening.
New artist Adam Karch will thrill Manitouers with his repertoire and style which is like that of Van Morrison, James Taylor and Cat Stevens from the '60s, 70's 80's, on Saturday, August 24, 3 pm. Rain Date, August 24, 3 pm.

Winter is here, and the annual joint Valdurn to Lake Manitou trek is back! Join other members of the AALM Trails Club on Saturday Feb 17, 2024 for an 8.5 kilometre trek on either skis or snowshoes.
